About Wernli Hall
Wernli Hall was an eclectic dormitory residence at the former Westmar College. (See the Unofficial Westmar College Web site.) Residents of Wernli Hall were involved: student government, student media, philosophical and bible studies, protest leaders of sit-ins and writers of strong letters-to-the-editor, and of course, brave enough to openly ignore campus housing policies. As a closed-knit coed dormitory, “sisters” and “brothers” protected each other from personal problems. I was called the “heart and soul” of Wernli Hall by the college staff during Wernli Hall’s last year as a residence hall before being closed up for good. I wear this moniker with honor. Thank you Wernli for all that you gave to the many students who walked your way.
